This is from a recent trip to the Japanese Garden in Portland. No specific questions here but comments always appreciated.

very asthetically pleasing shot JR.
color, composition and focus are perfect. it would be fun to play around with different crops/close-ups of the water drops and ripples. scot |

I really like this. One thought if you do this again: try to get the water drops completely against the dark background. You have one spot where a drop is competing against a blurred leaf or something in the background. Nevertheless, this shot is very good just as it is.

Indeed with the dark backgrounds and closer crop. I'm still building up my lens collection and since I took that shot I now have a more powerful lens I might try. My compulsion to go back for more shots is blowing away with the blossoms though. Thanks for all the comments on this and the other shots.

I keep comming back to this image more and more as the day goes on. Really peaceful and serene. Would make a great desktop background.

I think there is some detail in what looks like ablownarea at the top. - The bamboo. Reduce the glare there locally and the eye will not be as distracted maybe?
Its a small point to an otherwise lovely photograph. Peaceful and serene. I like it a lot. ![]() ![]() ps I agee, would be even better if you could carefully clone out the green leaves under the droplets. |
