Key light is 22"x22" softbox to subject's left and fill is bounced into large umbrella 10' above camera. Single strobe with barndoors on backgroud positioned to the subject's left.
Border color is a selection from his lips and mat color is a selection from the darkest shadow of his sweater. Rodney |

The b&w one draws the eyes to his hips. The color one draws the eyes to his shoulders. Dang!I need to get back in the gym! Haha...

Rodney,
You mentioned you don't use desaturation any more to get your B&W image from the colour. It's very impressive how you've managed to retain all the dynamic range of the colour without apparently boosting contrast. Can you give us any insight into your technique? |
