First of all,
I am not up on flash photography at all. I applaud your post of your beautiful daughter who is growing up before my eyes. One thing I would like to mention is the bright spot in or on her left nostril. Simple cloning of that out would take that out. I found it to be distracting right away. I don't see any blowout of any kind but may suggest the use of a reflector to brighten it up just a bit to bring out more detail in her hair. |

This is a good shot, but there are little white dots in the eye that I assume is from the flash, and I think it may look a little better if the white shirt was a bit darker.

I don't think the spots on the eyes are bad. What little I have read on portrait photography suggests that the general principal is to make sure the studio lights are in fact reflected in the eyes and not shadowed. Itadds a bit of twinkle/life. Of course one can break the rules at times or may look for a different effect.

Exposure, focus and color are all excellent, and your daughter is very photogenic. Nice work. I think the only thing I would do differently, would be to have her stand a bit farther from the background so it would be a little more out of focus, giving better isolation of subject from background.

I didn“t notice the nostril stop. Thanks for your mentions.
It was a crowded place and I had to put my daughter too close to the leaves. I will keep on mine all your comments for the next portrait with flash. |
