I can almost see the clouds moving in this picture. You captured a beautiful greenish-blue color in the sky, and I like the outline of the treetops down below. Good use of what becomes abstract space. Attractive.

the silhouetting works... though i would crop off the light pole in left hand portion as it ruins the feel of the treeline.. i would also run a bit of unsharp mask as the outline is a little soft..

then i would saturate it more.. its a little dull and lifeless colorwise... you may even warm it up a bit as well..

That is not a light pole it was a giraffe! :blah:

No seriously... the reason that I didn't crop was because I liked the larger tree to the left - felt it made it a little less flat. Also I didn't spot it until I posted it...

Did the unsharp thing... also blue'd the sky a little more and tightened the curves... what do you think now? I think I maybe went a little too far looks a little too 'digital' for me now...

i think part of the problem was the unsharp mask was a little strong.. what parameters did you use?

DomCotton Sep 2, 2005 1:47 PM

OK so i did 60%, radius 2 pixels and threshold 0 - to be honest was the first time I have ever used it! I see people talking about it on here - seems like I haven't quite fully got it down yet!

I am working on this image from scratch again; will not post it up until later.

Thanks for the comments.

Here is my finished image. It is still slightly blurred but I think it is fair to say that I am not very good at sharpening images...

Overall I am happy with the result.
