I love the lighting here. It looks as though the center of the flower is glowing.

I like the way the background is blacked out. Really makes the flower stand out.

I think this is one of the better ones you have on this page at the moment. Excellent shot. I looked at it and thought wow. You obviously have a skill for Macro, but looking at the other shots on this page I was looking for something extra, the one that stands out from the resy. This is the one. Congratulations. I'm loooking forward to the next one.

i appreciate the comments everyone.. for me this is one of those shots that makes all of the trips to the gardens and the hours spent in the 95 degree heat worth all the effort.. it just goes to show that if a place has merit, don't give up on it tooearly,as you really never know when "that shot" is going to present itself..

best regards, dustin

Yes really like this one.

Good detail, good comp, and the clean black background works well too.

bigdawg Aug 3, 2005 9:23 AM

The petals are almost crystaline and the center has a beautiful inner glow look to it. The blacked out background emphasizes The effect. Great photo Dustin!!

the problem with this shot is the aspect ratio works best at a little bit of panoramic, going to be tough to match this to a paper size... i was thinking of ordering a print from in their new pro metallic paper to see what it would look like..

i will let you know the results if i decide to do so.

awesome photo dustin, but what is intellisharpen?? was curious about the intellisharpen deal but i just researched it for myself online, looks like a winner, would you whole-heartedly recommend it? I'm considering a purchase.

Hards80 Aug 5, 2005 11:41 AM

intellisharpen is a plugin from basically its a program that sharpens without introducing the artifacts and the haloes that can be present when simply using USM.. i feel it is a useful tool to have at your disposal as there are some shots that USM just doesn't work well for.. the new version II is even better than the version i have.. i kinda wish i had that one.. :)
