I saw the contrast but the other details needed a subtle eye like Dustin. The second one is definitely winner.

Thanks everyone for the comments - The reworked shot is great Dustin thanks for the info, I'm still coming to grips with PP so allhelp on that front is also very much appreciated.

Steve, I think your shot is fine as it was. Don't fall into a trap of over saturating/contrasting your photographs. They become much less believable.
Hards, I cant believe it will be your eyes, but I'm starting to think your monitor might need calibrating. I'm sure you wouldn't have posted what I'm seeing on my screen - it looks like a cartoon. Only saying as my screen is calibrated 3 times a year and you tend to over saturate quite a bit. Plus the contrast you have applied has removed a fair bit of detail from the shadow and highlight areas of this bird and photograph. The grass is on steroids...:blah: |

i did that at lab.. that monitor is f'd up... theoretically it should be better than my monitor here, but it is not.. it is very flat colorwise and doesnt seem to want to improve.. (good newsis i am getting a new computeratlab, and i get to pick it out this time.. ![]() anyways, i think a more subtle boost to contrast/sat would be warranted but i don't have time right now.. |
