Hi all,
Well, my model has disappeared back to the USA - how inconsiderate! ![]() So I'm back to shooting non-humans and landscapes. Here's a plover on the east coast of England. It was overcast, hence the flat lighting. It also seems a bit soft to me, but was taken at 1/500th of a sec, at 300mm - so I may have missed the focus a little? Have cropped and sharpened, along with a slight saturation boost. I'm not sure it's interesting enough - just a bird and some grass, with no great colour, but am keen to get some opinions. Yep, the focus point seems to be a few centimeters in front of your intended target. Had that been spot on I would have liked this photo of the lone fellow in the grass. Kinda cute...

I think you're right with your self 'criticisms' but I also think he's a tad close to the centre of the pic - perhaps a cropto align him up going by the"thirds rule"?
