It was an assignment but I'm just starting to learn how to bounce flash... I'm not sure what I think of this one. Not the child... the lighting... the child I'm partial to since he's my son.

LOL, i think this is pretty nice. you may want to work on simplifying your composition.i think he looks great and expressive- nice window light....the stuff behind his head is a little distracting and unnecessary...overall a nice job though :)

Better? I think I have a bad habit of cropping too tight when I take a picture.

nice work

2nd shot is definately better. I seem to like the longer ferame and the backing is not distracting in this shot. i think this is nice and you have done well uising the flash> all the mid tone detail is there and intact and this is great to see with flash photography
