This was taken about 12 years ago in a place I used to work, I was doing pictures for some of the advertising for the place I work at.
I toned one of the prints, I kind of like them both, but not sure which one looks the best, any comments would be helpful. Thanks, Kevin |

I like the look of concentration on his face as well as the crop. My preference is the 1st one.

I must have missed these. Both work very well, but the black and white suits the shot better. Great shots indeed!
"Incidently, this . . . err . . . place you . . . work, and this white stuff . . . ?? |

I agree that the sepia is the winner. I think the color would have worked well if the light were more balanced -- the worker's face looks good in color, but the hands are too brightly lit, and overpower the balance in the photo in color. The sepia seems to tone down the imbalance.

Hello Steve,
I used to work in the IR optics bussiness, this is actually two pieces of Zinc Selinide waxed together, and is being turned into a sphere for liquid analysis, Coke and Pepsi use these when testing there products. I do not work there anymore, I was an Optical Tech. for ten years. Kevin |

Hello Syd,
The white stuff is polishing compound, and he is polishing the Zinc Selinide in the brass cup that sits in the spindle. Kevin |

Thank you,
I think the reason the hands were lighter that the face was theHalogen lamp that was positioned close to his hands were he was working. Kevin |
