Hello Tim,

Overall, this is a nice portrait that most will be happy with. With a little post work, it can be improved greatly. I've provided a crude edit, but was difficult because of size and compression.

Levels adjustment to bring up the highlights.

Selectively desaturate yellows and brighten teeth slightly.

Soften the image slightly. Use your own judgement, but I prefer to soften it to a point the subject look like she professionally applied her make-up.

Treat the tree to some burning. It looks like you used a silver reflector or off camera flash which is hitting the tree.

Smooth out the tree branch above the model's head.

Slight dodging and sharpening for the eyes. They should be brighter with more contrast for this relatively bright scene.

Generally, a dark top with light colored background elements will be a distraction. Placing the top in the bottom corner of the frame as you have makes it less distracting. Was this preplanning or luck? Either way, it works out well for the image.

While the wind blown hair can look very nice, I'd prefer not to see the messed up look. Here, a little fix of the hair would have been more flattering.

You've done a nice job avoiding blown highlights and shadows. You have enough detail in this image to bring it out a lot more than what you have here.

Thank you for sharing.
