When shooting at the time of day that you have here, a little fill flash will improve the results greatly. You'll still have the shadows, but they will not be as harsh which works better for most women.
The reason others feel you need more torso is because the image lacks balance. You have lots of frame with only a small portion of the subject. A tighter vertical crop will give it more impact. Here is a quick edit. Rodney |

Thank you guys for theadvice."Rodney", giving it a tighter vertical crop is much more pleasing to the eye, thank you. Looks much better!

Hi Jules, I could have opted for the tighter vertical per Rodney.
However, I like the blurred outdoor background. Also, I really enjoy outdoor portraits so I kept it in. Actually, I prefer my take for this reason. :-) Also, I placed your sister right of center to convey the "eye" of the photographer... thus it is my "interpretation/edit" of what you may have seen thru your lens! Just another "take" on your lovely photo of your sis. :idea: |
