Well, actually it is from the first 100 shots of lighting/bg tests in the new "studio".

you exposed this one wrong.. by filling the frame with a white object you have tricked your camera into treating the white as a neutral gray.. therefore the white is less than brilliant.. your white balance is a touch off as well.. next time, if a white object fills more than 1/2 - 2/3 of the frame try overexposing a stop or so and bracketing your exposure.. custom white balance would have been helpful here too..
also, there is some stuff in the lower left hand side of the frame.. not sure what it is or not, but it doesnt belong.. the lighting is a bit flat too.. play with the positions of your lights a little bit too.. i commend your effort to get in the studio and try things out.. it can be a little bit tough at first, but inno time you will find yourself turning out some very nice pictures indeed.. i am looking forward to your next picture!! regards, -dustin |

Thanks Dustin. Yeah, this studio thing is tough, but is fun, and a great learning experience. I tried to avoid it, but as a stepping stone wanted to produce a stock portfolio, as well as some of the decorative (which i prefer shooting). After the studio thing is done, documentary will be next.
I really appreciate you for being so helpful, actually you have been the biggest help in this very fast paced 3 months so far (I started shooting on 5/20/05). |
