Hi Syd,
Just catching up! I think the first shot is a little too busy. The second one is a much better shot IMO but the DOF is off. The front petals are sharp but the back of the flower is not focused. Shame because I think with the reflection it is actually a cool shot. Not sure if the bug was intentional but I dont really care too much for it to be there..... Dom |

I pretty much agree with Dom. I like the first shot, but I think that it would look much better if you cloned out that green pillar at the left side.
The second one is really cool, but clone the fly out while you're cloning the first pic. BTW, Pink Floyd rules. Wish Roger Waters had stayed, though. Mother, did it need to be so high? Grant |

Hi guys, thanks for the comments. Much appreciated. Please don't think I'm a flower perv', but I took over 30 shots of this bloom from differing angles. Unfortunately I think I used the macro setting, hence the shallow depth of field.
What do you think of the clone? Was difficult trying to extract the DNA from that little dude. Seriously though, I haven't really got my head around the cloning tool yet. Any tips? "The light was brighter . . ." |

i actually prefer the 2nd shot before the edit.. i found it to be smoother and more appealing.. and the green and pink contrast well.. the 1st one is too busy as pointed out..
i found that with water lillies, singling them out was the key to a good shot.. such as the picture in my avatar and some shots on my website.. i really enjoy a good lilly shoot at my local botan garden.. |

In search of Syd, thanks for appreciating the edit. Truth is that a week ago a honourable member on the forum taught me how to use the clone, my enthusiasm in practicing the recently acquired skill is still taking me to great hieghts. So yours was just such an occasion. Thanks for the opportunity.
I just looked in the manual what it said and tried it out. It is working.:-). Try and see what works for you. |
