Two shots of a stream running close to whereI live. The colour shot was taken from underneath a bridge-I had to crop it quite a bit to loose the bridge structure which didn't really work as a frame, as I'd originally intended.

Steve, I really like that second shot. Seems a nice little idyllic place. South Africa does seem a very beautiful place. How cautious does one need to be regarding, poisoness snakes etc? Or is it pretty much Ok to walk the countryside freely?
Regards, Syd |

No problem at all Syd - snakesare afraid of human intrudersand will generally slip away well before you see them. To get bitten you've really got to stand on one or make it feel threatened - you are more at riskfrom small ticks (tick bite fever). The bi-peds can bea different story on the odd occassion though:G

I really like the second photo. The first one does not have enough tonal variety to work in b&w. It's a lovely location. I'm looking forward to seeing more photos from this area.

Steve,
How's the fishing there? I prefer the second picture, and Ladyhawk is right, I think the B&W doesn't quite do it. LT |

I'm afraid not very good in this particular river LT. I'm into fly fishingbut you have to get out of town for that - great fishing a few hours out of Jo'burg. Trout &yellowfish mostly.
