I actually think I like the pre-edit better. The clouds seem very soft to me, but the noise in them gives them a bit of an edge. Removing the noise makes them seem more out of focus than just soft. Just MHO. Nice work.

Now, this may only work considering its current presentation (ie: LCD monitor and small resolution image) but I too prefer the original. The noise seems to add to the image for me. It gives it a 'Mad Max feel'. Showing my age now. Cheesy movie reference aside... I think it adds to the thought provoking presentation. Nice composition with nice lines. Effective use of silhouette . The sky is fill of rich colours and textures. Ahhh...I think that's where the noise comes in... it adds some additional texture to the image.

Scot I would vote for the original. I think the grains add something to it. Regards. Jaki

I agree with Jaki, the latter edits are too 'chocolate-boxy' for my tastes. the original has an 'earthy' feel about it which I think is appropriate given theconveyor outlines(?) in the foreground.

I also think the original picture is better, it has more details esp. in the cranes areas. However you can still remove noise more "delicately " i'd say, : run "Neat image" less aggresively, and then use some history brush to apply it in selected areas, avoidimg applying to edges.
I use "neat image" and I think it's THE best noise remover todate. Just use it intelligently ![]() |

conveyers they be, steve.
mornin' mate! the request for the fixing in this shot got a bit out of hand for i did not specify what i was concerned about. the clouds themselves were not as much of an issue as the noise of the open sky. i have acquired NEAT and will apply as soon as i can see straight. :? been at the 'puter all day and my eyes and brain are killing me! sliente'!!! scot |

Hey, that image is amazing especially the colours in the sky. Did you a certain filter to acheive the effect?

I don't see a great deal of noise, and what I do see adds to the shot. Lovely colours, silhoutte & composition.
