I happend to like this shot of an old sand watch over a textured chair. I took it 10 minutes ago and just cropped it a bit. I like the simple composition and the warm light coming from behind... It works for me but i'd like to hear your sincere comments since i'm not that sure this is a good picture. :?

Thanks for commenting Sergeant.
Yep, i used a (cheap) tripod mounted on another chair! ![]() I think i exposed it for .8 secs... a big no no without the help of a tripod. |

Change out the background. This image would be more effective with a pure white background. Concentrate on exposing for the grain in the clock's wood. The shadow is interesting. This might be a playful image if the clock was placed in sand and rocks were place around... an hour glass turned sundial.

This is a great idea to start developing.
i would like to see more detail in the sand watch. i think the shot looks a lil soft maybe due to focus of maybe motion in the cam when the shot was exposing. i also think a lower light source would also help the shot. i think this wold throw a nice elongated shadow and also expose more sand inside it. I also agree that maybe a less comple backng can be used. I too am thinking plain white to draw more attention tothe sandwaqtch. Maybe even a wider fstop to really draw in the focus on the subject and maybe have the shadow dissapearing along the table slowly out of focus. just my thoughts ken |

Thanks for the comments guys! Will try those suggestions, I'm impressed by the idea of making a sun watch with the sand watch as sundial!!!!
And thanks for the edit boily... with white background looks better! |
