Some captures from my son's Rugby matches yesterday - grey drizzly day and was using aperture priority which was easier with the bad lighting. Would normally use shutter priority to capture the action. Any advice welcome.

Great action captures here Steve. Nice to see you using the S9500 @ the weekend.
Shame about that dreadful weather you seem to be having.:lol:I hope the school rugby results were a little brighter. |

Great Pictures Steve, I like the first one the best, but that's because I'm biased. I like to see the "scrum-half" in action. In that one, I get the sense that he's faking the pass, and about to cut upfield with the ball toward the gain line, or better yet to the goal line.
Wish you could've gotten his expression don't you? I know I do whenever I take these action shots. Love seeing these, great Job! I see Syd (Oh, sorry, Bill G) got a hold of this picture too. LT |

Thanks every one for taking the time to comment - I really was battling with the miserable lighting(and the 'foreign' weather conditions - don't know how youBrits & Kiwis put up with it on a regular basis:G).
Syd - I took one look at that side screen when I down-loaded the image and just knew that Microsoft's Reading agent would find it irresistable:blah: Ken, as you'd also expect I'm a rugby fanatic. Sincerely hope our Tri-nations' effort is a bit better than our abysmal Super 14 performance. Looking forward to the All Black/Springbok games - always the highlight of the rugby year for me. One thing I will say is that we tend to perform better at national level than provincial (he said with fingers crossed). LT - I'm amazed at how much ground Rugby seems to begaining in the States. Seems it's being played quite widely - good news for the game. |
