I was at 300mm and 1/500 shutter speedfor this shot - iso 200. Can anybody help me with why it is a little soft? It could be an obvious question but i have to ask it anyway!

The shutter is quick enough, apperently the camera had trouble focusing correctly on the moving subject... when doing flying birds pictures try using continuous autofocus (if your camera has one) and continuous shooting- so you can later choose the keeper...

its a cool shot dom and yes i was going to splash out and yell SHUTTER SPEED but gees 1/500 thts pretty darn quick. quick enough iwould think for this photo situation. I would maybe think ur af or caf but i really dunno. Sorry mate mst be a question for all u seperate lense guys
