b&w sunset.

It seems to be a very powerful sunset, but I wonder at the choice to drop the color.

E.S. Crawford Mar 22, 2006 4:16 PM

looking for something different.

i live twenty feet from this shot, so sunsets are a given (if the weather cooperates!)

i want more dynamics, something to make you look twice.

so i shot about forty shots at different settings within about two minutes and

wasn't really happy with any of them, so i tries over saturation, high contrast, b&w.

will post more in this thread to get your opinions.

That's pretty cool. The clouds are awesome.

I do really like the lens flares. A sci fi type effect. If you want something different try selectively coloring the flares on top of a black and white sunset. I think that would be a work of art. Fit right in with the theme on this forum recently.

It has made a great shot even better. Seems to give it more depth somehow. Also, the touch of colour just gives it that little something extra.

The edited version is great.

It's amazing how 3-D the photo looks now. WOW :!: :!:

I think that is now an amazing shot. The one thing left that I might try and do is to crop it into a vertically framed shot removing the excess on the sides. Primarily on the left. Bring the flares and sunset more into the primary attention.

I like the edited one too. Great work. Jaki
