Snake River Sunset

Hi, this is my first attempt at shooting a sunset. I got my first camera about 3 weeks ago and would love some tips. Thanks

welcome to the forum.

to me, it seems a bit unbalanced. too much darkness on the left side, and nothing to counter it on the right.

I like this...nice mood. The sillouette of the tree against the orange sky is very nice.

Thanks for the comments. Simple, when you say clone the leaves at the bottom do you mean clone them and spread them out along the bottom so there are more?

Very nice ! I like the dark trees, it brings out the orange that much better ! Good Job.

I figured out what you mean about cloning the leaves at the bottom, my photoshop skills are pretty rusty but it's something I was planning to learn along with the photography so I'll give it a shot.

Thanks for all the positive comments, I was expecting to get ripped apart more. It looks good to me but I don't have a trained eye yet.

Love the colors and the exposure. But I agree about the framing - I'd rather see more of the water/sky on the right, a bit less of the trees. I sure wouldn't change anything else, it's a beautiful scene.

well comming from someone with less experience than you, I like how you hid the bright sun behind the trees as it would probably been really hard to avoid the glare of it without some kind of filter. I love the orange color and the reflection you captured.. Really a nice pic from my point of view
