G'day all
Many birds appear to mate for life - I do not know whether these Rainbow Lorikeets are some that do, but this pair in a local tree were certainly enjoying some moments of togetherness 1) ![]() 2) ![]() 3) ![]() 4) ![]() 5) 'ere you down there ..... can you give us a bit of privacy please! ![]() typical exif- Panny FZ-2500; 1/500s x F4,5; ISO-400; lens at 24x zoom / 480mm FF-equiv + cropped 50% As always, feedback welcome Phil

Wow those are some beautiful birds, I love the oranges and yellows. I have been staring out my window at crows all day and I'm tired of them : ) It says you were at 24x zoom, about how far away were you when you took these?

G'day KB
The birds were about 50 to 60 ft / 18-20 metres up the tree, and the image has then been cropped by about 50%, before being downsized to 1000px for internet use If I had wanted the birds as 'full frame' with no cropping needed, then a bit of arithmatic suggests about 800-900mm if Full Frame equivalent -or- about 600-650mm on a dSLR might come close Hope this helps Phil
