I like the first one, nice capture of the bloke's face and poise with the ball. Sharp as well - indoors or out?
I think a crop to show just that guy would be great. |

I like the first one better. I think I would prefer a tighter crop...maybe just the player holding the ball and the one defending him. The second doesn't do much for me..yes it's a nice diagonal, but there's nothing really going on in the image. In general, if you're capturing action in sports, it really helps to have the ball in the frame.

I have never done sports before but I think the first one is cool. In terms of technicalities it is sharp, nice colours, and is well exposed. Regards. Jaki.

Thanks everyone for the responses
Frenchy & RJ - thought that in the context it would be better to include the other players to convey the setting but looking at the crop I think you are right to focus on the ball handler - thanks. It's an outside pool Frenchy - we don't really have much of a need for indoor pools in sunny Africa :blah:. Nice performance against Wales on Saturday btw (but Scotland's was even better!) ![]() Thanks Jaki - see you tomorrow! |

you have captured a nice moment here. and its nice and sharp.
the issue i see here is that the sun is behind or to the side of your subject, so his face and front are a little bit in the shade. and with the bright pool from the strong sun, its a little dark. try shooting w/ the sun behind you next time, you will get a better exposure on the skin i think. -dustin |

Thanks Dustin - you are dead right, I had to lighten the shadow on the ball handler quite a bit to get it to this level without overdoing it.
