I heard our coastline was getting a pounding from the ocean yesterday, so I went after work to investigate. I felt the wind blowing quite strongly so I made a makeshift protection for my camera with a packet and elastic band. Sure enough, in about a minute of shooting, the front of my lens was covered in salt water from the air!

Hopefully my makeshift protection worked.

That's some pretty rough looking surf out there. The sky color is quite interesting too.

i love the atmosphere in this shot.. really conveys the power of the ocean.. and perfect timing on this shot.. caught the crashing wave perfectly and the stormy sky in the background.. nice..

did you lighten up the foreground, because it looks like you might have overdid it a bit, or tried to get more detail out of it than it had, as its a bit washed out.. if you shot raw, you may have better luck doing 2 conversions and then blending them with layers..

Good morning Dustin and Lady Hawk

I actually did use the convertor to make two conversion and blended them. I probably did lighten the second one for the foreground detail a bit to much, but it looks ok full screen.
