Any appeal in this image ? Thoughts, ideas, suggestions welcome. Anything and everything, please say.
Credit to Peripatetic for this idea regarding the sunburst |

To my uneducated eye.
Positive points - beautiful coloured sky, nice sunburst effect, technically excellent as always. Negative points - Bit of a boring ship. |

i think it works very well. the sunburst effect looks cool, the composition is very nice and the color, from the sunlit sky to the green of the ship works very nicely together. good job

LB,
i find tihs shots elements and colors truly amazing! the only problem i have are a couple of oof spots and ripples on the deck. perhaps stitching? or maybe the deck is just that way. none the less, i find the composition and overall effect inspiring! scot |

Hi all,
Malinstreak, I suppose it is a boring old boat, but I liked the fact there was a clear deck, kinda kept things clear and uncluttered. Scott, Opp, I did mean to fix up those glitches. I think its a bit of both, stich and some poorly aligned deck mats. Thanks for pointing out. Will fix that up before wasting any ink or paper. All, Iknow the colours are a bit off from the actual scene, but I was going for something a bit different with this, and wanted to know if it was working or not. Thanks, feel free to add. |

Hiya,
Just curious but did you get any shots of the (bow/stern/front bit...!) where the sunburst is originating? It looks really cool off there... sort of clean looking clouds and great colours... And Malinstreak? You say just a boring ship? Well I guess I have not seen EVERY ship in the world but this doesn't look boring to me - completey the opposite! It looks really unusual - maybe as LB mentioned the fact it is so clean? Maybe because of the interesting curves caused by the pano - not sure but it is cool. My favourite part is defo that bit at the right hand side - really ![]() Dom p.s. Please excuse my lack of nautical knowledge! |

I really like this. The colors are fantastic and the plain deck keeps the photo very simple and uncluttered. The lines on the deck and the railings are very graphically appealing, almost abstract.
Once you've fixed the little glitches that have been noted, this should make a fine print. |

ok i'll be the dissenter here and say I don't like the sunburst. i think this photo would have enough color and interest to drop the sundburst and would still have appeal to me. the couple stitching problems didn't show themselves to me until someone mentioned it. cool shot though.

Nice shot, great colours. I'm assuming this is a double exposure to capture detail in the sky and on the ship, but I could be wrong. I'm not really a fan of the flare though. I've seen alot of adverts purposely place flare in the shots lately though, so maybe I'm just a bit old fashioned
