I like this, it's subtle but works well I think. The Sun is a bit burnt but then it is the Sun after all. Keep posting dude . . .

its still hard to see at this size.. but i think it looks pretty good.. the sky is subtlebut has pleasing pastel tones.. the low placement of the horizon works.. you might increase the detail in the foreground a bit if you can though.. but again its hard to tell at this size..

Here is a larger representation of the photo and, also, the full photo shot that it was cropped from. ![]() ![]() |

Hi,
I am a sucker for silouhetted treelines against nice sunsets/sunrises. I think you should (if possible) get closer to the trees that I mentioned and use them as foreground interest. Try and get all of the tree from the trunk clearly visible over the horizon - often involvesgetting a little dirty (I carry a tarpaulin in the boot of my car for this very reason!). The sky does look better coloured at the later posted size but still feel that the contrast could be boosted to show those pinks and blues. But definately a nice first posted image - looking forward to more... Dom |

Hi Dom,and thanks.
Though I had driven about fifteen miles, or so, from home (expressly for the purpose of taking some shots) I think that I could remember the place. The problem with getting closer, however, is that I was on the right-side shoulder of the thruway. there was a degree of nervousness involved, as vehicles were beginning to fly by at warp speed, and I (consequently) was only able to get off about three shots of that sunrise (the posted shot being the best). But I will now be carrying our camera with me - just about everywhere that I go - in hopes of capturing some great shots. Thanks again. |
