well... I like it, it is a very good shot, there is a small thingI noticed and that is the brightness of some areas, the water in the distance seem overexposed, but I think it's a great shot.:-)

you are right... this time, i broke some of the rules. hehe.so i let some areas blow out a bit, and purposefully let some areas go almost completely black.

My gut overrides any technical quibbles I might regarding this one. Very Nice Shot. The blown out areas almost suggest mist ( at least on my monitor). The angle and darkness of the tree almost make it feel like you are in a cathedral.

I don't mind the darker areas because the shadows make the picture work, and the time of day also works good, but I am still a little concerned for the overexposed area, but again i love the shot.

thanks rhino and sarge again. i appreciate the comments!
![]() no digital sensor could have captured that difference in light, so i had to let some of it blow out. at least most of the blown areas are semi-concealed and far in the background. |

It works for me ! I like the hard shadows and the whole contrast.

Yah, I am with Gemini. How do you people get near perfect contrast with B&W. Lovely Dustin. Jaki.

Ditto.
We should probably set a challenge - everyone has to try to shoot like Dustin for a month, or Mike, or ... |
