Vito, I personally like that shot. The funny thing is, I saw a picture pretty much like that, with the same green background and a dead flower in a casino.
I've been thinking about it all week and was planning on going out this weekend to a park to get something like that. |

rodney...
you think my image doesn't look sharp? look at the flower...doesn't get much sharper, however i purposely used a large arperture (not to mention the long focal length) to blur out the background and other parts of the image that weren't meant to be sharp.. hey newbiex the shot isn't a particularly new look, so it's possible it's been done before (well, apparently it has ![]() thanks for looking guys Vito |

lol, alright good...that's what you're commenting on...not the stem..
well, that's a mistake by me...i didn't use a tripod, (lol, i should listen to myself lol) and i was on minimum focus and sliding back to get the shot...and didn't enough... whatevers in the Dof is sharp though ![]() Vito |

I'm going to have to agree with Rodney. (As hipocritical as that may appear concidering other topics :-)) As a painting, it has a nice softness but a little too much empty background. As a picture, it's hard to focus on the primary subject. It looks out of focus. Could be camera movement.
Was it your intent to have so much filler? |

Vito,
I have seen some very good stuff posted by youreslf. I don't think this shot, however, is very interesting. What do you think of the shot? Terry |

although i'm not thrilled with the soft closer buds..
but overall i love it.. it's different than most you see... the 'filler' is there to add mood...and the fact that this flower is so tiny i can't physically get any closer with this lens (1:2 ratio..then the sensor crop..i believe this is minimum focus too)... a 1:1 macro wouldn't get much closer either... this is the shot i wanted to get...other than the soft buds... if you don't like it, that's fine (you can't be perfect...LOL LOL jk jk ![]() ![]() ![]() Vito |
