i think this shot is good. It was taken with my EOS 20D as a B&W with a Red (digital) Filter.
In Photoshop Element 2 I adjust levels, then I did an unsharp mask (USM) radius 25 at 40% and then USM at 1.5 radius and 125%. Then I added a white frame and (c) text. Let me know what you think, if you like it please tell me why you like it. If you don't like it tell me why you don't and offer tips for improvement. |

I like this shot, the lines/perspective work for me. I do not like the sign placement though, It is to centered and takes away from the rest of the shot.

yup same as above. The focus is now on the board than the train. That is also visible with the sharpness of the image.

i am not sure if you could have done much else with the sign.. i actually don't mind its placement, it gives the shot some perspective..
i like the USM technique you used to boost contrast, i use that one quite frequently myself and think it works rather nicely.. when playing with the levels i would have decreased the overall brightness of this shot just a tad more, i think that would help you your contrast a little further.. good work man -------- dustin www.hardwickphotos.com |
