haven't seen a decent shot in a few days, so i went over some oldies and started to

play. i wanted to go from the bright oranges and yellows to a deep blue without losing

the silloette of the trees and also not lose the original elements of the original.

does it work?

I could look at it again. Main element in a good photograph is if youcanlook at it again and again without getting bored.

If you could smarten up the red flare in some way it would add extra appeal.

I would crop from the bottom about 20 percent to just under the "nose" of the water bank, then off the left hand side a bit till the ratio is made perfectly square. I did it for you but somehow couldnt get it to re-attach to the site.... ?

Straighten the horizon too.

Its rather nice.

I really prefer your other shots of this location. This one to me loses alot of detail in comparison. On the personal taste side, I prefer either completely square, taller or wider shots. This crop seems right in the middle of those sizes. Then as I said that is my preference.

on first impression i liked this one as well..

i think there is a bit too much space on the bottom, but it may be a difficult crop to do well, as you will inevitably lose the nice line leading out of the bottom right corner..

i wish the halo of the flare were a little smaller, but i guess that would be a tad difficult to repair..

all-in-all, its a pretty nice image
