Scot,
Lots of contrast and shadow and texture. It probably breaks a bunch of "rules" but I really like it. There's a lot going on and I'd be surprised if this wasn't still a favourite of yours a year from now. Very nice. |

thanks all for your patients with my reply to your great comments.
first of all, thank you for the encouragement. it definately helps me to create the images that i have shared. next, to any of you who haven't picked up my subtle hints, the broken leaf was a symbol of my fatalistic phylocophy of late and i wanted it to come through in the image. here is another take, but, imo, i don't think it has the impact of the first. let your hearts be the judge. scot |

The first was a gem. I loved the lighting. The second is a good photo, but just doesn't catch my eye like the first. What camera do you use on all your photos, by the way? |

you may laugh at this , BG, but all posts on this forum have been shot by either a
kodak easyshare 5mp digicam piece of crap i got for 75 bucks (until january this year) or a five year old pentax 550 5mp i am borrowing from a friend (presently). i used to have a rebel, but gave it to my soon-to-be-ex girlfriend and never looked back. too ackward, too expensive and not worth all the hype, dslr's, imo. i'll take the new sony h5 point and shoot over any slr anyday. let me be the example, it's not the camera... btw, glad you liked the first better! me too. scot |

I believe I saw one of those first two cameras listed in an exif from one of your previously posted photos. You can have the best camera in the world and if you suck as a photographer, it still won't help you. :-) You definitely have the eye. |

Wow, all the new posts, I'm just getting caught up looking at them all. I've come back to this one quite a few times Scot. I do like it very much. I have to laugh, I told you my perception was lagging. it's such a serene shot, I never even noticed the "leaf".:lol::lol::!:

Hi Scot,
GREAT photo. I'm just back from being away the weekend at a conference, shoot around 2000 photos... Quick glance over the forum and so far the photo you've made is the best I've seen. I really like it. Broken leaf presents an interesting perspective... I don't think it's wrong to be broken... You did well. Can't write more. Got to work... But thanks for sharing,...I love it. As Craig said, this should remain a fav of yours for a long time. Paul |
