Eh, didn't expect much, but I still stare at it once in awhile. Thanks for the response.

I wouldn't give it a flat no as an answer.
Certainly the shot does not follow any of the norms in photographic composition. But who cares, right?! On the other hand there is a lot in the image to look at and its got great depth of field for the eye to explore the scene. It also tells a bit of a story about where and when the photo was taken. It's interesting to look through this scene, but it probably won't win you any awards! |

I guess this one is considered out of the box so to speak.
A flat out no is better than bashing or ripping it to shreds if there is nothing of value to that individual. I do like it and wonder what you were doing to get a shot from that perspective. :-) The composition is different but I will say that I like it. |

Given the way the rider in the B/G is framed by the bike in F/G, I would say there is some real creativity shown here. Probably more of interest to a bicycle enthusiast, but an interesting composition anyway.

Again, its not going to be acclaimed, or win prizes. If you like it great. One thing is your trying to think about your shots. From there you can go places. At first inspection I say no. However the shot as you say has interest even if as a whole it is not working as more than a snapshot. I like the man in profile under the saddle, following his belly. The hand on the saddle and wondering where this person is going. The people are going about their business.
Keep trying. |
