Come on folks, was this photo so bad that I did not even deserve your comments.

they are not bad photos...i can't explain why sometimes people don't comment yet visit this particular forum where people would welcome comments. i think the 1st photo would be more successful if it were shot as a vertical. maybe tight on the antlers, face and body? it's not bad as it is , i'd like to see a little more room on top, a little tight on the antlers. the second shot is nice but unremarkable.

i miss things from time to time..
pic #1- this one is just too soft and is not saturated enough... i think you missed the focus here.. pic #2- the shadow falling across the face detracts from this shot.. a little tighter shot of the face would have worked better as well... ---------------------- dustin www.hardwickphotos.com |

I'm in agreement with Dustin. A different crop will help the first shot but it is soft. The second shot is sharper but soft in the face and the shadow from the ear takes all the life out of the eye.

Yup. Me too. Focus is too soft, and cropping might produce a more remarkable pic. (See? We notice...eventually...A N D we comment....) Best regards, keep posting,

Thanks folk for the wonderful comments. I shoot the two animals in Krugger National Park. One can only shoot these animals while in a car - not allowed to come out. Thanks for the lesson.
