Have you looked in the close-up forum? Check out this item http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...amp;forum_id=7.If you look at the background, the proximity, and the clarity and focus. Then look at your photo again. It also has info about settings to use - maybe you could try the suggestions?
I have tried and failed many times with macro shots. I found that when I get nice and close I cast a shadow on my subject so then I move my head and miss half the flower... etc, etc... If you dont have a tripod get one - they make a huge difference. Move around every angle that you can get at and try and settle on the direction that gives you the most monotoned background - i.e. lots of leaves so you get a nice steady green. The DOF you have is pretty good but you need to open up a fraction to allow the edges of the main subject to stay sharp. However given what I have said, i am still learning! I hope you find my small amount of knowledge useful... |
