LOL...I'm sure this isn't what most were expecting. Anyway, the couple wanted some b/w images and some sepia toned. I dunno why everyone is into sepia these days. Anyway, I wanted a bit of a washed out look(over exposed) because one is darker and because of some tan lines.
Lighting is pretty obvious. Key and fill is pretty flat white seamless paper with a couple lights back there too. Any suggestions? Thanks, Rodney |

...but, a nice surprise...cute couple.
I don't usually like sepia, myself, but I think it works well here because of the "washed out" look you were going for. The tone also isn't overpronounced, sometimes sepia'd images look too brown. It's very good in this shot. Did you do in-camerab/w and then convert in an image editor to sepia? Did you use any filters during shooting of the b/w shots? The only thing that bothers me (and only a small amount) is how the shirt of the guy in back blends just a bit too much into the background for my liking. But, considering the color/pattern of the shirt, I don't think there's much you could do about it. I like how it's washed out, I'd just also like to see more of an edge to it, like with the guy in front's left arm, it has a nice sepia edge to define it. I've never done anything other than look at portraits, so I certainly have no realtechnical suggestions. |

Good point about the shirt blending into the backgournd. I think I'll see a little more detail in a larger print. I'll keep my fingers crossed. If I had thought about it, a kicker on that side may have provided more seperation. Next time I'm using this set-up, I'll give it a try.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Rodney |

Not quite sure, maybe a tan color. The white just seems stark but thats just my opinion. What about a black background?? |

I'm not particularly fond of the edit. I feel it degrades a nice image, but will accept it as a fun attempt.
