hey guys,
its getting near the end of the year.. and before family gatherings and vacations take us all away from your computers.. i thought i would start a thread for everyone to post their favorite photo they took here in 2005.. so i am leaving it wide open as favorite photo, so it can be what you think is your best shot technically or just one that you particularly like.. i hope you will all participate and i look forward to seeing your shots! -Dustin |

Nice one! I have to say I regularly check up on your gallery andthat has always been one of my favourites.
I'll have to have a long hard think about my own favourite now. |

Dustin,
GREAT IDEA ! I'm in. There are lots of reasons why this is my favorite picture. Most important it's my daughter doing what she loves. It also won a blue ribbon in sports (action) photography against some good competition. It really shows off the capabilities of the Sigma lens Dustin and I recently talk about in a different thread. (Same lens took the "Fuchsia" picture) I have posted it in sports but was a little worried about putting it here because I like it so much I'd hate to have someone tell it wasn't what I thought it was. (Even if they are right) But I guess I can take it now. "THE PITCH" |

I guess this is the one I keep coming back to. Please take into consideration that I just started taking pictures seriously in August of this year.
This shot is a blended exposure (two frames), one for the sky and one for the silo. Took a long time for this amateur to get layer mask perfectl, but I eventually discovered some new techniques on my own from the experience involving processing of the masking layer in order to avoid artifacts. Well, here it is. ![]() |

I'm not sure if this is my absolute favorite photo of the year, but it was certainly one of the most fun to capture...
