Hi All

this is my first attempt at a sunset, most of the time im still in bed while the sun is rising.

Took this shot in Fiji, its a shame the sky isnt nice and clear but in a way i think the dark clouds add a bit of character

any feedback would be appreciated

thanks

ken

Really nice sunset ken, I thought if that was you view from your house, I would have liked to come over to stay for a while. :-)

A clean image with well saturated and appealing colours of the sea, sky and the clouds. The silhoutte of the sun umbrella in straw and the rocks are also lovable. But that plastic seat tend to spoil the composition on the grounds of form and the norm IMO
Well done, Ken!

yes, i wasnt sure about the chair, i actually put it there. I was composing the shot with an empty foreground and to me it didint feel right. but it would have been nicer with more attractive furniture. It is also for this reason i tried to silo this shot and not fill it with any flash to try to hide this.

thanks for the fedback

ken

G'day Ken,

For a first sunset shot, you've cracked a ripper! (hope that makes sense in Kiwonese!) :blah:

In other words, you've caught a wonderful sunset, Ken, done it very well.

I'm sort of half-half, agreeing that the plastic chair sort of doesn't add justice to an otherwise "natural" scene, yet without it I could imagine it might have missed something in the foreground.

Anyway, I think you should be thankful you've done such a great shot. I love sunsets, and you'll see a number of great sunset shotsin the landscapeforum, I'm sure you've seen some there already!

Thanks for sharing... (what about a chance of your girlfriend lying on the chair, now THAT might have been a better idea!!?)

Paul
