I've just started having a go at sports shots and took these two at a rugby league match, I know I've a long way to go but I hope to get better. Please tell me how to improve on these, lay it on thick folks if they're crap, I'll learn a bit quicker then maybe.

Rico.

I must have cocked up here as this pic is pretty clear before I attached it. Back to the drawing board I'm afraid.

Hi,

It does look to me like you have enlarged the image too much. What I suggest you do is post up the original shot just resized (the whole image). My guess is you cropped this section out of a larger shot.

But to look at positives, I like the catch here. You have the guy looking really concentrated, he is looking into the frame (almost!) and you nearly have his head on a third. I think if you did crop this you want to make a little more space at the top and quite a bit of space on the right (where he is looking into). Look up the rule of thirds if you dont already know it - i would recommend his head to bein the top left third.

HTH,

DJ

Thanks DJ, I know what you mean regarding the rule of thirds, and you are quite right about the cropping. Like I said I will get better with a little from you guys. Thanks, Rico.
