Hey there, all things considered, the shots arn't bad, coming from the P850 in a dark gym. However, if you want your sports shots to be real winners, the P850 just isn't for you. I have considered a camera called the Fuji F30 that has very good high ISO modes (as in an ISO 3200 mode with less noise then your edited versions). It however, lacks the kind of range you need.

So for what you have to work with, those are pretty nice shots, but if you want to take real winners, I'm afraid the P850 just won't cut it.

hate to be negative and all, but the edited versions, to me, just seemed to be brightened... they still seem really noisy.

Yep, the noise is still pretty horrible, but the blame for that can't go on Shooting_rubber. The shots are very well composed and would have been excellent, save the limits of the P850.

Hey SR, just a question, I see under your name <<<< you have listed your camera a tcon and filters. You don't have any of that on while shooting indoors do you? If you do, take all that off and that will allow, more light in and your pics wont be so severely underexposed. At this age of players, you should be able to use flash and that might help a little also. They won't be the best, but we have to work with the equipment we can afford. Good Luck.
