hi mate

its just messing with the cloning tool in ps cs2.

nwo im sure there is a million and 1 ways to do this mod but this is the way i did it.

You can see pics of the steps below

1) duplicate the layer
2) use poly laso and just do a mesy cut around the boat and the whole water/sky
3) Shift the selection to the right or position you want
4)Now as you can see with the attachment shot, with the botto layer showing through press "cntrl+shft+c" to copy all visible layers and then "cntrl+v" to paste a new layer of the 2 layers joined. This just makes it easier when cloning. well for me anyways.
5) Now select the clone tool and put opacity to around 70%. take samples from both sides and build out the boat which is showing through from the bottom layer. If you want to be fussy you can do a sleection so none of your cloning interupts the boat.
6) personally i boosted the opacity to 100% for the backing and sky and just merged it by experimenting.
7) Once i have the merge correct the shot is done

Hope this helps

haha thanks mate

i was just thinking now, you could just select the boat and move that alone, but the thing is the sun light and rays wont line up and may look a little odd.

no worries mate, if you need any help just send me a pm

Nice Ken, but I did spot a little bit of repeated pattern in the lower clouds... however a great lesson on cloning, etc.

Cant really comment on the original shot its really nice. I would definately clone out the bright orange lens flare spot at the top right of the shot though. Maybe clone out the post in the water too? i think that bothers me a little...
