i think shot 2 has huge potentioal. Maybe make it so the feeder is parallel to the edge of the frame and make the bird reach into the corner of the frame

see wat it looks like

How about this...

now if you have that in high res i think you have a winner. For me this edit works real nice. I think the symmertry is much nicer and that green gradient in the backing is fantastic. Great silo effect and wonderful job on the edit

love the edit shot mate. excellent

Thanks for the advice and complements. I am too new to this hobby to have any ability to judge my own work. I really feel like I am flying blind...

The high quality JPEG converted from the RAW is 2112 x 1600 pixels. Is this suitable for a quality 8 x 10? It works out to 200 ppi and change...

I have Photoshop CS (free from the college where I work) if that helps.
