I am personally not a big fan of this. I think you have overdone the photo with the effect, and led it to look like a big piece of a noisy mess. I'm sorry but that is my oppinion.

This one is much better than the first, I like the selected colouring, but the blur effect is a bit too much for me. Try taking your camera and begin zooming in and out using a tripod and slow shutter with the leaf in the middle, that, I believe, will improve the effect, rather than adding it.

The first picture doesn't do much for me, the second is much better although I find that the colored part is a bit small in comparison of the blurred surrounding. So I cropped it, resized it a bit and sharpened.

IMHO this emphasizes the leave more,

The editing was done in photoshop, but Picassa has some effects that are not easily reproduced. nice work

Ronny

Dont dare to say realy, because imho it misses a real subject, although the spider web does this in a kind of way ...

Maybe when you would not completely turn it to black and white.

For me there are two ways to use black and white, to accentuate the composition and lightfall in a picture, or to accentuate an other part of the picture that is in colour.

Might be corrected on that point, but it's how I see b&w working.
