Been around this forum for well over a year, but just now decided to post a photo. I guess it's time to see what I've learned from everyone on this forum.

Here's a photo I took a couple of weeks ago at an apple orchard in Indiana.

Comments and critiques are invited

(It's my first time posting an image here, so I hope I get it right)

Hi and congratulations for making your first post!!!

The concept is good but personallyI would have adjusted the composition more to match with the rule of thirds and the main thing for me would be to see the apple sharp rather than leaves just in front of it. Apart from that it is a good first post.

I think you're right! Had I focused on the apple, the shot would have been more appealing.

I'm usually pretty good following the rule of thirds, but I don't know what happened here!!

Thanks for your comments.

i think from a technical base you have achieved what you want. Nice and sharp, good exposure and nice use of a shallow dof

however as mentioned, i thnk the composition is too safe and is not giving the image enough punch.

You should be proud you are getting the tech stuff right. Just play atound shooting from diff angles etc. Then just review them at home and see wat works. Also if you are into a certiain thing, search good images and you will get tons of ideas on composition etc

very good shot
