Today was a strange one . I had a few hours to spare so I visited an art exhibit. But not just your usual exhibit.
This one was on a beach and presented one of the most surreal spectacles I've ever seen.
This was the work of Turner prize winning artist Antony Gormley. Entitled 'Another Place' this exhibit consists of
one hundred life size figures, cast in iron from a mold of his own body. The figures are dotted along 3 Km of beach and at high tide are all or mostly submerged.
From my lousy description it doesn't sound that impressive but you need to see it, and be amongst it to appreciate the scale and majesty of it all. It was like being in a living , moving Pink Floyd album cover.
The figures have a strange almost 'intelligence' about them. A bit like the robot from 'The Day The Earth Stood Still'.
More info can be found at

I had my camera with me and took loads of shots which I need to convert from RAW but heres one straight out of the camera and resized. More to follow...

This is an interesting shot. I think it may a little too close to the subject to be really appealing.
