Hi All, (Just realised I wrote how rather than who in the title...... oops obviously getting old!!) :-):?:G

Not a photo post but I am trying to find work from the best photographers in the world to inspire me to become better and to get new ideas.

Who are your favorites (no matter what genre)and what are their websites so we can all see what we should be aspiring to (most of us will probably never get there but one person reading this might one day be right up there)?

Let me start with one of the greatest David Bailey http://www.davidbaileyphotography.com

How about a 16 year old cinamatography / photography student?
http://www.joeyl.com/

Both his movie shorts and the images he has on his site are at a level beyond many pros.

Don't think we have spoken before so HI.........

I think David LaChapelle has some interesting stuff. I also like a lot of Frank Doorhof's pictures.

Hi Mark,
this students site came up in discussion among some members of ppo.

I also would like to emulate James Hodgins http://www.hodginsphotography.com/
James took the "Photographer of the year" award for 2002, 2004 and 2005, and looks like maybe again this year for his chapter of the ppo. http://www.hodginsphotography.com/awards.html

I trawled my mind .... and the two which I realised with a shock have had much effect on me are

a.k.a. Johnny Stilletto ... did street candids with a 35mm compact
[inspired me to learn to roam the streets searching for the dramatic moments]

and

Heather Angel ... nature photographer
... without whom I would never have got a Baby Bembo tripod.

Between them they taught me something about extremes of impromptu and preplanned ... and most significanly of the navigable distance between them.

All the best

Glyn

Hi Mark, a particular favorite that still springs to mind andwas a real hero of mine when i was at Art collage, his name was Sebastian Delgado (sorry to any Hispanic viewers if i've spelt it wrong) he was or is a very talented documentary snapper that worked a lot for the likes of Sunday times magazine etc, i remember well one of his assignments at a mineral mine in south America (where he originates) and the pics blew me away!!, i know a fair while ago he had a book out that was very expensive at the time( something like £75.00) and i have been trawling ebay ever since trying to find it:sad:. any advice on it's availability would be most welcome:-).Graham
