I took this snapshot of my daughter -- I love it, except for the background...it was taken at a festival with people all over the place.

I really want to make it something special for a frame...but want to see if you editin pros can help me...I stink at edits. Intersted in seeing what someone that knows what they are doing can do. Blur the background or something even more creative?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

This is a lovely shot so I (with my limited skills) could not resist a quick edit for you (30 mins of playing around later and getting totally frustrated with the hair)........ what do you think..... hope it is OK?!!?!!

I'm sure Ken will do a fantastic one (Ken if you do can you please give a master class breakdown for us?)!!

Thanks,

Mark

Good job Mark.....

AC.... this is what I came up with also...As Mark said, the hair is a pain but with a bit of effort, could be fixed nicely...I will take more than the 15 or 20 minutes that Mark and I
put into it though.... I like the shot...It is worth saving...

Omigosh!! What a wonderful picture of your daughter. Treasures both. And a great background edit, Mark!

I love the color - actually think it's the best choice here. But just for fun, I thought I'd try another kind of look. Hope you don't mind, but just to see what would happen I got rid of the fantastic color. It needs more work on the background (darkening for one thing) but I'll leave that for someone better skilled than I. Ria

In the previous post, I adjusted only the red channel.

With this one, a hue/adjustment layer and playing with only the green channel produced an entirely different "feel." I like both of these, but I love your original color version the best of all.

Thanks for letting me play with your wonderful photo! Ria
