Happy New Year and some good shots...... looks a little windy there when you took these.

The first two work best for me as the last one looks as if it is all out on its own and could probably have done with the trail (if there was one) leading up from the rocket. Exposure was good as well as timing so all in all I would be very happy with them if it were me.

G'day mark,

thanks for the reply and comments. The last one is the most processed of the lot. There was a lot of green smoke on the right of the shot, so when I opened up the raw file in PSCS2 I upped the shadows and contrast to max to get that wired effect and almost tree like look.

As for being windy, maybe a little but not enough to knock the camera really, but I was next to a wall. However out in the bay there was some wind hence why it looks like the fireworks are moving to one side. So not me just them lol.

Don't worry didn't think it was you otherwise there would have been an oscillating effect rather than the sideways movement of the wind on the fireworks lol.

I think the windy conditions added a bit to the overall photos. The fireworks take on an organic look - almost like palm trees.

Funny you should say organic. Someone else actually thought the third shot looked like a green plant of some kind. And palm trees also came to mind.

ahh G'day kenmck,

haven't seen you around in ages either, where have you been. You should drop by the gang at flickr.com and say hi. We are all there still.

Happy New Year to yourself as well, hope you had a ripper of a night. And the same goes to your beautiful girlfriend as well. Or is it wife now. I have no idea at all. All the same, hope you are doing well.
