I snapped this photo of my daughter today. She wasn't in the photo posing mood so I was only able to get 4 pics total :?. I loved this photo, but wish I would have got her feet in the photo (she was wearing the cutest socks). I'm having trouble deciding where to crop it. Also any other suggestions? CC positive or negative is welcome.

Thanks

A

Unless you have a D70 with a 0.72 aspect ratio the image has already been cropped. You could give the rule of thirds devotees a shot with the full image.

From what you posted I would just crop to the print size. I cropped it to an 8 X 10.

If your going to crop it get rid of the little tiny bit of legs so she doesn't look like she has been chopped in half.

Maybe right below her hand so that you don't chop off her hand but she doesn't look like you cut her legs off

I agree it would look better without the legs. But I would probably include the western skirt. It isn't a western hat but it still seems to go together.

Ok I played a little I cropped it. Adjusted the curves and contrast did a defog and a sharpening.

I hope you like it. I guess I should have ran it through a denoiser program but on the web I knew that I needed to sharpen a little more then I normally would.

Thanks for the input and the edits. I knew I should crop her legs out, but my dilemma was how much cropping I should do. Now if only I had moved that darn chair! :-)

Ok well after look at the crops and edits. I thought I would do my own.

If you want I have the psd file for this as well. Which if you like my edit I can simply email it to you. It is only small as well I only had the image you posted to go on. But you might be able to print something from it.

Hope you like it.

oh and here is a sepia toned version also. I thought the old west look would be cool too.

Thanks sneezy1956, appreciated.

Not sure if it was what afayec was after, but hopefully it is a start to some ideas.
