The lights have made the this look very good all I would really do is cut out all of the space behind your subject. There is a little shadow from the hat but it is not too harsh. If possible get the light a little lower to reduce this, however I'm not the biggest expert with lights as have only had a couple of plays in a friends studio. Lastly there is a light reflection in the picture behind your subject which also distracts from the shot, it is mostly removed by cropping but worth checking for things like that when shooting.

Here is an idea for the crop.

Nice work.

Hello Randy,

Overall, this is a nice attempt.

The key light is too low and the fill light is too high and too far to the camera right. For this shot, I would have placed my fill light below the lens.

Posing is Ok, but I would have turned his shoulders a little more toward the lens, lowered his chin a tad and lowered the camera slightly as well.

Thanks for sharing.

Rodney

I can't help but notice something that looks like a hot pixel on the background painting. Was that from the flash?
