shot these tonight at the local ski hill. C&C are welcome, infact I'll get it started. The starbursts from the pole lights just seem a little too large. I know you can reduce the effect by opening up the apeture but I didn't want to lose any detail because I think it is important in a picture like this.

The first picture I like more, the chair lift must have been stopped for this exposure. But the second picture I also like the trails of light cars have left on the bottom quarter of the picture. I might return tomorrow night to try and get a picture with both in, and try any suggestions you have:-)

Seeing the lift blurred in motion, cars streaking by both would be fun, with longer exposure. I hope you go back and I can learn more just sitting and watching without getting cold. Nice detail in the buildings.

On another thought, I wonder if anyone has studied the effect on point sources of light by different shaped iris apertures.
