Hello folks,

Very long time neither I have visited the site nor posted any photos for critiques. Now that I have beenin Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam for nearly a month for my vacation and this pm while wandering around the Sword lake I came across these two old pals sitting at the lake. Without hesitating I shot two frames then one of the men stood up seeming to head home. I shot in RAW format with my Canon EOS 30D and converted to B/W using chanel mixer then adjust a bit in hue and saturation to get a bit sepia tone.

Your critiques are appreciated and welcomed.

Regards,

Quan

Very evocative shot. You can just imagine these men talking about the 'good old days' of their youth. Of course, we know that in their youth the country was torn by war. But, hey, maybe they're discussing buying a digital camera online.

Good job.

Looking at the bench and the hotel in the distance this picture does not look like it needs straightening at all.

Excellent shot and nice touch with sepia type toning.

Hello Quan! It is so nice to see a post from you! I think this is very well done, I think you captured more than just a photo here. This photo really conveys a feeling or emotion IMO! I hope you post more often!

Hello all,

Thank you very much for your nice comments. I really do apologize for not having replied to your comments very soon as my internet connection in my company has been deactivated the post and reply in web forums :-( Maybe it is due to security reason. So if I do post and cannot reply to your comments soon please understand.

Best regards,

Quan

I love how you use the tree to frame around them and the two tone color to it instead of B&W.
